Barbara Lovato, Ed D. is the Library Director at the University of New Mexico – Valencia Campus Library located Los Lunas, New Mexico. She has worked in every area (technical services, public services, reference and administration) and position (technician, specialist, Librarian, Associate Director and Director) of academic libraries for over 25 years. Dr. Lovato has taught Library Instruction sessions in a wide range of topics as well face-to-face, for-credit instruction in the area of Research Methods. Her research interests and publications have been in the areas of Library User Satisfaction, Expectations of Librarians in the 21st Century, Copyright and Fair Use, and Emerging Information Technologies. Throughout her career, Dr. Lovato has maintained a focus on developing and fostering library workers at all levels. She a wife, mother and grandmother and enjoys volunteer work, reading, and watching movies. Additionally she spends free time working on crafts, home construction and landscaping projects and as a background actor, stand-in and precision driver in television and movies. Her favorite pastimes are fishing, hunting, hiking and spending time with her family and friends.
