GO | School for Information

Eric started working as an Education / Marketing manager in the world of libraries, archives and museums 2003. Since then, he worked for two educational institutes specialised in archiving, information retrieval and document management. From the start he had a keen interest in digitalisation of information and the consequences for the information specialist. Since June 2021 Eric is responsible for the development of a generic education program for all Information Professionals working in Information Governance and Archiving for the Dutch Government. Since 2024 Eric is the director of GO | School for Information, a Dutch educational institute specialized in continuous professional education in the field of information services. GO | School for Information is internationally active in countries like USA, Dutch & English Caribbean, India, Germany, Belgium and Italy. Eric is a board member of the KNVI (Royal Dutch Association for information professionals), member of the Innovation Committee of the Dutch Royal Library and an editor for the magazines Od (Governmental Information) and IP (Information Professional). Eric provided chapters in several books and publications on information services. The latest are ‘Social Media and Libraries’ and ‘The Card Catalog; analogue and digital’ for Elsevier’s ‘Encyclopedia of Libraries, Librarianship, and Information Science’ and the first chapter on Community Librarianship in the book ‘Aanbod, dienstverlening en gebruikers van bibliotheken’ (Products, services and the users of Libraries) by Publisher Politeia.
