Colleen Dearborn
In 1999, I earned my MLIS from Dominican University in River Forest, IL, and worked in several public libraries. In 2002, I became an Adult Services Librarian in the Alsip-Merrionette Park Library. In 2014, I wrote an Eliminate the Digital Divide proposal for a mobile training lab of 15 laptops, and the IL Department of Commerce funded this grant. Since then, I have been coordinating our library's adult technology training classes, and participating as an instructor. Through this entire adventure, my periodic Computers in Libraries conferences have been extremely helpful. My library's latest project is the setup of our Mobile Memory Lab, and this is the topic of one of my CIL 2017 presentations. For the Internet@Schools track, School Librarian Dawn Nelson and I have been researching ways to keep current with technology in the midst of our busy lives.
