Gabby Resch is a PhD student at the University of Toronto’s Faculty of Information. His research focuses on human-computer interaction, embodiment, and digital media in learning environments. He has done research on augmented reality, 3D printing, and “making” engagements in classrooms and museums. He has extensive experience with new media technologies, DIY hacking culture, and the history of computing, and his work applies themes from these respective areas to educational opportunities (both formal and informal). He works with the Semaphore and Critical Making Labs at U of T, both housed within the mobile and pervasive computing cluster of the Inclusive Design Institute, as well as the ENCORE lab at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education, a research group that investigates new ways of teaching and learning with technology.
