Kenneth Roman
Intern
George F. Johnson Memorial Library
I am currently working on my masters at Syracuse University to get a degree in Library Science/School Media Specialist. I have worked for the George F. Johnson Memorial Library for 9 years. I started as a page in the Youth Services Department, but then furthered my duties by helping run and create programs for both children and teens. During this last year I have switched from being a page and program assistant to being an intern. As an intern at the GFJ Library I sit at the Reference Desk, run programs and work with the librarians. I also work with the newly revamped GFJ Tech Center where I run Open Hours, helping patrons with their job applications and minor device problems, and give classes on blogging, Twitter, Skype, Youtube, coding, etc. I have had a lot of fun working with patrons, helping them acquire these skills. I want to share my knowledge with other professionals so they can help their patrons learn these skills. |
