Marianne Giltrud, MSLS
Marianne Giltrud, is the Instruction Librarian/Assistant Professor at the Prince George’s Community College where she heads the information literacy instruction program. Her current projects include assessment, instruction, e-learning and instructional videos.
Marianne joined PGCC from the Catholic University of America University Libraries where she was an Embedded Librarian and an Adjunct Faculty, in the Department of Library Science.
In, 2014 her book chapter, “From Smorgasbord to Sous-Chef: Communities of Practice in Information Literacy,” was published by the Association of College and Research Libraries, in the Embedded Librarian’s Cookbook. It articulates her vision of developing a knowledge sharing and strategic learning culture in higher education.
Her specialties include: E-Learning, Pedagogy, Information Literacy, Digital Media and Knowledge Management. Marianne innovates, educates and advances teaching and learning to achieve a clear and focused potential.
Marianne holds a Master’s of Science in Library and Information Science from the Catholic University of America and a BS in Psychology from the University of Maryland. She is the 2017 Chair of the Special Libraries Association, Knowledge Management Division.
