Marilyn Quinn
Marilyn D. Quinn is Associate Professor Librarian at Rider University in Lawrenceville, NJ. She has an M.S. in library science from Drexel and an M.A. in musicology from Brown. Her professional cataloging experience has served Ursinus College, Westminster Choir College, AT&T, and Rider University which she joined in 1996 as Bibliographic Control Librarian. She returned in 2008 to music cataloging as Rider’s first Fine and Performing Arts Librarian for its School of Performing Arts. Her accomplishments are varied, including founder of one of the regional Voyager System User Groups and trainer of the MARC Holdings Format for the Serials Cataloging Cooperative Training Program of CONSER. She has survived and embraced the transition from card catalogs, the start of MARC and OCLC, various iterations of cataloging rules (AACR, RDA), and the application of the semantic web to library collections.
