Matthew Stevons

Director of Library Services
Kaplan University

Somehow without using Twitter, I graduated from Indiana University in late 2007 with a Master of Library Science degree and have been working in online services for libraries in proprietary institutions ever since.  Currently, I lead the library team at Kaplan University as the Director of Library Services, responsible for the administration and development of all of the library's online services and electronic resources. During my tenure I've lead initiatives and projects to add additional resources and subscriptions to our entirely online collection, access and tie usage data to student metrics, implement a discovery layer and other improvements to site design and access, and integrated library sources in the university's LMS.  All combined, this lead to increases in student satisfaction and usage of the library according to survey results and data, and if I may say, it's been an all-around success. Between the many regular duties and hats I wear, my focus currently is a collaboration with our curriculum teams to replace some course textbooks with customized reading lists heavily based on library holdings.
