Melody Dworak
Melody Dworak is a librarian at the Iowa City Public Library, one of the busiest libraries in the state, serving a diverse urban population in a fast-growing metropolitan area. A Big 10 college town, Iowa City is best known for the University of Iowa Hawkeyes and the Iowa Writers' Workshop. The city is also celebrating 10 years of being the home to the United States' first UNESCO City of Literature.
The Iowa City Public Library enjoys the support of a well-read population who demands the best in books and other entertainment. Melody is a selector and reference librarian, and she enjoys cataloging both popular and under-the-radar nonfiction books. Thanks to this combination of roles, she also is active in an ongoing website initiative to enhance Readers Advisory engagement with patrons.
For the Digital History Project, the library's digital collection focused on local city and county history, she manages its digital collections and exhibits, content management system, and project goals and timelines.
