Maria Markovic is a Chicago based copyright compliance and library management consultant.  She has been working in the corporate library sector her entire career, mainly in the healthcare, devices & diagnostics and pharmaceutical industries. Both as an in-house librarian or a consultant, Maria directs companies in building a culture of copyright compliance and creates resolutions to their information needs. An advocate of Open Access initiatives, Maria has spoken about the relevance of Open Access content to corporate libraries and the necessity of healthcare organizations to recognize the needs for supporting Open Access publishing.  Maria holds graduate degrees in Linguistics and Library and Information Science from the University of Illinois.
