Libraries & Info Pros in Motion: Visions & Impact

Deadline for Submissions is September 1, 2025.

Over the last few years, Computers in Libraries has traced a clear arc of progress: from focusing on stabilizing and strengthening communities through technology-driven resilience after worldwide pandemic issues to urging libraries to dream big and imagine audacious futures. Last year, it highlighted agile evolution, equipping information professionals to pivot quickly amid new technologies such as AI, XR, robotics, and others. Together, these themes illustrate a journey from rebuilding foundations → expanding possibilities → honing adaptability and setting the stage for an even more dynamic step forward.

This year, Computers in Libraries 2026, with the theme, Libraries & Info Pros in Motion: Visions & Impact signals purposeful acceleration, taking the bold concepts of recent years and propelling them into real-world action. It acknowledges today’s fresh challenges (misinformation spikes, funding volatility, GenAI upheaval) while insisting that libraries and info pros not be passive observers but catalysts who convert obstacles into launchpads for community and organizational advancement.

Computers in Libraries 2026 spotlights practical playbooks, AI-empowered services, and continuous-learning with “Olympic librarian” mindsets that move projects off the whiteboard and into daily practice—fast, ethical, and built to last. Topics and speakers focus on concrete tactics to measure impact, iterate quickly, and champion inclusive innovation, ensuring that visionary ideas translate into sustainable outcomes for every patron they serve.

Session Types

There are two kinds of speaking sessions available. All center around our theme of new ideas and sustainable impact. We know AI has been a huge impact, but what other things have you been working on or thinking about? Have you evolved your makerspace into something new? What unique things are you doing in your library?

Roundtable Panels

These sessions feature speakers and a moderator discussing topics to offer different perspectives. Want a fun debate among colleagues? Bring them together to create an engaging presentation for the attendees.

Presentations

We love to hear about case studies, new processes and procedures or the latest and greatest technology you're using or experimenting with. Share with your colleagues in the industry what you're doing and how you're making it happen.

Benefits of Speaking

All accepted speakers receive a complimentary Full 3-Day Conference Pass (March 17 - 19), plus great exposure in the industry—so think over your latest success stories or technology ventures, and submit your proposal today!

How To Submit a Proposal

If you would like to participate in Computers in Libraries 2026 as a speaker or workshop leader, please submit a proposal as soon as possible (September 1 at the latest) via the Call for Speakers Form. Please be prepared to include the following brief details of your proposed presentation on the form: title, abstract, a few sentences of biographical information that relate you to the topic, and full contact information for you and your co-presenters (title, address, email, and phone).
