Christi Showman-Farrar

Christi Showman Farrar is a Consultant at the Massachusetts Library System, a non-profit support network for over 1,500 member libraries. With over a decade of experience in libraries and education, Christi now focuses her energy on being a "librarians' librarian", providing continuing education and consultation for libraries all over the state. Christi has an MA in Early Literacy and Children's Literature from the University of Arizona, and an MLIS from Simmons College. Her professional presentation topics have ranged from collection development to picture book art, social media in libraries to cupcake decorating. Most recently she has presented on understanding the role of text complexity in readers' advisory for children.
