Robin Kear

Robin Kear is a Liaison Librarian at the University of Pittsburgh. She works with the English, Film Studies, Gender, Sexuality, & Women's Studies, and Computer Science departments. She has served the American Library Association (ALA) International Relations Round Table (IRRT) over the last ten years in various roles where she is currently immediate Past-Chair. She was selected and then reappointed to serve on the ALA Website Advisory Committee. Internationally, she has co-published and presented research on the attitudes of global new library professionals for IFLA and BOBCATSSS conferences. Robin served as an information services intern for the United Nations in Nairobi, Kenya, and has taught in Vietnam and Kazakhstan. She was named an ALA Emerging Leader for 2008 and a Library Journal Mover and Shaker in 2008 for having a global focus. She has chaired the strategic planning group for her library system for two years. Robin also represents her colleagues in Pitt's university senate and co-chairs a university senate committee on student admissions, aid, and affairs.
