Brandy McNeil is the proud recipient of the 2017 Library Journal Mover and Shaker award.  Ms. McNeil is the Associate Director of Tech Education for one of the largest public libraries in the United States, the New York Public Library.  Brandy manages tech education for over 89 branches across New York City and has successfully recruited and developed a team of effective professionals and support staff.  In the short time Brandy has been at the Library, she has designed and built 7 state of the art computer labs, tripled attendance numbers, launched several innovative and successful programs as well as established partnerships with some of the world’s most prestigious organizations such as Google, MIT, Codecademy, and the U.S. Embassy of Athens, Greece. Brandy speaks internationally and has been featured on television, in newspapers, blogs, and other media outlets.  Brandy is currently pursuing her Doctorate and in her spare time, she is an entrepreneur and motivational speaker.
