Jan Zastrow is a DC-based Certified Archivist, librarian, and information professional with experience in business, academic, government, and nonprofit sectors. She established her own information management consultancy, Hyperclick Online Services, in 1998 and continues to consult today. She writes the "Digital Archivist" column for Computers in Libraries and has contributed articles to Online, EContent, Database, Best Practices for Government Libraries, and Archival Issues.
Jan earned her MLIS and Political Science master's degrees at the University of Hawaii at Manoa, where she subsequently established the Archives & Manuscripts Department and headed the Hawaii Congressional Papers Collection. She came to the U.S. Senate on sabbatical leave in 2008 and has since worked as a "closer," serving as archivist, records manager, researcher, and historical consultant for five retiring senators.
