Author, Fundraising for the Academic Library: Philanthropy in Higher Education

Kathryn has a diverse professional history in the nonprofit sector including positions in public and academic libraries. She is a philanthropy scholar with publications on fundraising for academic libraries and the role of fundraising in institutional social capital. She is completing her PhD from the Lilly Family School of Philanthropy at Indiana University this year. Her dissertation is titled, "Social Capital as a Foundation for Fundraising: Leveraging the Academic Library as a Vehicle for Development." Other current research projects are focused on public libraries. Because of her specialization in libraries in her doctoral education, she will soon complete her MLS as well.
