Kay Lewandowska

Lead Librarian for Research & Collection Management

Kay is the Lead Librarian for Research and Collection Management. She has experience in libraries and archives in both the federal and private sector with digital asset management, metadata creation, taxonomy implantation, digitization, processing, and training development. Prior to assuming her role at the FDIC, she held various positions with the Department of the Navy. Before the Navy, Kay spent 10 years in Corporate America.

A champion of innovation, Kay is committed to helping the FDIC Library anticipate and respond to the changing needs of the community by providing resources, services and spaces that help advance opportunity and equity.

Kay is passionate about establishing rapport with members of diverse groups. She is enthusiastic about the important role of libraries and archives in developing vibrant and engaged communities, and is engaged in local and national groups. She is active in Mid-Atlantic Regional Archives Conferences, where she servers on the Education Committee. She is a member of the American Library Association. She holds an MLIS and a MA in History.
