Mélanie Brunet is the Open Education Librarian (Interim) at the University of Ottawa. She raises awareness about textbook affordability and open educational resources. She co-edits the OER by Discipline Guide: University of Ottawa, a tool to help professors and students get acquainted with OER in their disciplines, and coordinates the uOttawa Library OER Grant since 2020. She was the project manager for the revitalization of BIODIDAC. She served as a member of the Canadian Association of Research Libraries' Open Education Working Group from 2019 to 2024, leading its Francophone Open Education task group. She completed SPARC's Open Education Leadership Program in 2020-2021. Mélanie holds a Master of Information and a PhD in History from the University of Toronto and is completing a Master of Education in program evaluation at the University of Ottawa.
