Picture of Leah Weinryb GroshgalLeah Weinryb Grohsgal is Senior Program Advisor to the Director of Digital Strategy at the Library of Congress. She previously served as a Senior Program Officer and Coordinator of the National Digital Newspaper Program at the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH). She created and led the NEH Chronicling America Historic American Newspapers Data Challenge to demonstrate the potential for using the open data in Chronicling America, and has worked with multiple programs aimed at digitizing, preserving and improving access to cultural heritage materials. Leah is also a recognized authority on digital infrastructure and sustainability, and digital projects and collections focused on using cultural heritage data. Previously, Leah worked as the digital repository coordinator at Emory University, managing their effort to create an open access repository of faculty scholarship and producing an in-depth report on faculty data sharing. She has worked in academic and public libraries including the Berklee College of Music, the Tewksbury Public Library, Haverford College, the University of Pennsylvania Biomedical Library, and the Bala Cynwyd Library. She holds a doctorate in history from Emory University and a master's in library and information science from Simmons Graduate School of Library and Information Science.
