Nikesh serves as Information Technology Librarian at Zayed University in Dubai, with expertise in library systems. His areas of focus include Web-scale Discovery solutions, Library Services Platform/Integrated Library Systems (LSP/ILS) implementations, enhancing remote access, managing repositories, and executing Institutional ORCID API projects. He holds an MTech in Information Systems and Management from the University of Mysore, where he was awarded a gold medal, and has master’s degrees in Library and Information Science and Business Studies.
Before joining Zayed University, Nikesh served as a Systems Librarian at Khalifa University in Abu Dhabi. In this role, he was key in integrating the ILS, discovery, remote access, and repository systems for the Masdar Institute, the Petroleum Institute, and KUSTAR. His experience also includes a significant tenure at EBSCO as an EBSCO Discovery Engineer, where he implemented over 100 EBSCO Discovery profiles across India and South Asia, significantly improving library discovery experiences.
Nikesh also has a strong background in the publishing industry, having worked as an Information Specialist and managing client relationships with major international publishers. He is skilled in project management, leading multiple projects such as the development of union catalogs, digitization of theses for institutional repositories, ILS migrations, Web-scale Discovery service migrations, and institutional repository migrations
